A merger of two farmers’ co-ops called for a fresh look at current technology capacity and capabilities. The expanded co-op would now include sixteen locations providing myriad services including grain storage, fuel facilities, bulk propane sales and deliveries and more. Building a comprehensive technology solution required bringing together a large set of functions, roles and physical locations into one network, and keeping it user friendly.
Gilmore initiated a thorough technology audit, identifying areas of opportunity for upgraded hardware and proposing strategic software improvements. Because farm work doesn’t stop to wait for server maintenance, timely implementation was key to the project’s success. Gilmore was able to provide an entire IT team to work behind the scenes, allowing the co-op to focus on the core business elements of the merger.
With the merger successfully concluded, the western Kansas co-op and Gilmore strengthened their relationship, with Gilmore providing long term support of the co-op’s technology and data infrastructure.
